L'IBA voudrait clarifier sa position sur les ISA Games prévus à Galdar (Iles Canaries) en Novembre et Décembre 2011. "L'IBA ne laissera aucun rider engagé sur le GSS et le GQS entrer en lice dans cette compétition." Terry McKenna, le directeur de l'IBA explique: "L'IBA pense que les championnats du monde ISA sont depuis l'origine le sommet de la compétition par équipe qui permet aux riders de représenter leur pays dans une équipe nationale au meilleur niveau avant de s'embarquer sur le Tour Professionnel de Bodyboard." "L'IBA a un grand respect pour le rôle de l'ISA dans le monde de la compétition et nous avons commencé à entrer en relation avec l'ISA pour confirmer notre position. Nous avons hâte de pouvoir nous rapprocher de l'ISA pour continuer à développer le bodyboard au niveau global et pour explorer ensemble des pistes de travail communes pour le bénéfice du bodyboard." "Les championnats du monde ISA sont parfaitement bien positionnés quelques jours avant le Froton Pro, dernière épreuve du GSS du Tour IBA 2011 aux Canaries en décembre prochain. Ce sera l'occasion de faire converger les médias sur le bodyboard en montrant deux types de compétitions d'excellence en bodyboard sur une des vague les plus excitantes de la planète. "L'IBA a le plaisir de confirmer qu'un championnat du monde par équipe pour les riders professionels du GSS et du GQS sera organisé à Port Macquarie, (Australie) du 14 au 21 avril 2012." The International Bodyboarding Association (IBA) would like to clarify its stance on the ISA World Bodyboarding Championships, scheduled for Galdar (Canary Islands)  in November / December 2011. "IBA will NOT be releasing any contracted GSS (Grand Slam Series) competitors or GQS(Global Qualifying Series) riders to compete at this event. IBA Tour manager Terry McKenna explains. “IBA believes that the ISA World Championships was originally conceived as the pinnacle of team competition and we want to establish the essence of this event as just that in the sport of Bodyboarding. The ISA event is a great way for riders to represent their country in a team environment at the highest level before embarking on the Professional World Tour of Bodyboarding” “The IBA have great respect for the role that the ISA play in the sport of surfing and we initiated communication with the ISA to confirm our stance. We look forward to working closely with the ISA to continue to develop the sport of Bodyboarding globally and to explore ways that the IBA Professional World Tour and the ISA World Bodyboarding Games can work in tandem for the benefit of Bodyboarding” he said.
