Vivement vendredi ! Jeudi 11 Août : Le Zicatela Pro a été mis en attente à Puerto Escondido, organisateurs et riders sont tombés d'accord pour attendre vendredi pour les huitièmes de finale. Terry McKenna, le directeur général de l'IBA explique :"Une bonne houle arrive du Sud, en fait samedi on pourrait même avoir des vagues d'environ 15 pieds (5 mètres!). Ce sont des conditions comme celles-ci que nous souhaitons comme vitrine pour le niveau de la compétition. Nous avons eu assez de vagues de 4 à 6 pieds ( 1,50m à 2m) et nous voulons finir en beauté. La compétition va se dérouler sur deux jours encore et nous pouvons d'ores et déjà planifier vendredi et samedi pour lancer les hostilités." Après a voir fini les trois premiers tours avec un total de 14 points, Amaury sera en man on man contre Jared Houston (RSA) dans le heat 30 du Tour 4 (1/8ème de finales). Can't wait for Friday ! Thursday 11th AUG : The Zicatela Pro has been place ON HOLD in Puerto Escondido today with organisers meeting with the riders and all agreed to wait till tomorrow. IBA Tour manager Terry McKenna explains : ” We have a significant swell heading our way out of the south, in fact Saturday could see the wave faces peak at more then 15 feet” he said. ” This is the conditions that we want to showcase the sport in and we believe that we have had enough perfect 4-6 footers and now want to finish with a bang.The competition window has two days remaining and so viewers can now plan their assault with both days.” After his 14 points completed after Round 3, Amaury will be with Jared HOUSTON (South Africa) on man an man in heat 30 in Round 4 (1/8 finals). "Fasten your safety belts and put your crash helmet! ", Amaury wrote on his Facebook to all his fans supporting him.
